Vehicles in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a individual who discovered a car in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Police then found many other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report early analysis suggest the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to solve the incident" and have requested to the community for details.

A senior representative commented the incident left him stunned and had to be solved promptly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, recalling the killing of nine people by a gunman aiming at residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
