Sir Keir Starmer plans to press supporting countries to supply Ukrainian forces with additional extended-range weaponry to hit enemy locations during talks in Britain on Friday.

Sir Keir is set to welcome Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky alongside the so-called "alliance of supportive nations", comprising more than 20 of supporting nations who have agreed to offer Kyiv protection commitments once a ceasefire is brokered.

The Ukrainian leader has been urging for several weeks for more long-range weapons from the West, a step that the Russian government has warned would worsen the hostilities.
