Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that defies traditional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of prohibited rituals and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine cult.
The adventure centers on "strange trials and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Bonus Content
Players who finish the quest will receive an unique katana in addition to numerous items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Content
This patch also brings the game's third free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
